A small piece of India in Avignon during the festival! At Fogasses's house, Elisabeth Vaillé's photography and Emma Chedid's painting plunge the viewer into an exotic world, until Wednesday, August 15th.

Multiple inspirations
For both artists, it was important to convey their experience. Aware that India is a dividing country, the exhibitors wanted to bring visitors back to their world. The whole place is laid out, the decoration, the outfits, the music. Inside are displayed the paintings of Emma Chedid and the photographs of Elisabeth Vaillé, in the courtyard of the photos are printed in large format on tarpaulins.
"We would like Bhakti (as a travelling exhibition) return to India"
"Black is made for the Indians. In their dark eyes, there is an incredible light, "says Emma Chedid, who has made it her main source of inspiration.
For Elisabeth Vaillé, the photography, must be taken on the moment: "I do not like people who pose," says the photographer.
"Everything is self-produced, no subsidy ..." says Elisabeth Vaillé, proud of the work done. An artistic meeting between two women convinced that this exhibition should last: "We will try to exhibit in Aix-en-Provence, Marseille or Sète. But we would like this exhibition to travel to India, "hope Elisabeth Vaillé who came back to photography after a radical change of life.
