Alexia...
In 2012 and 2013, I impose this photo session on my best friend with breast cancer to fix this event with her.
These photographs inscribed in the instantaneity pose the question of the loss, the disappearance of femininity. Fear and hope are reflected in Alexia's poses. The look on her body oscillates between desire and tenderness, sexuality and compassion. This double reading leaves the viewer facing the dull violence of the reality of her daily life.
This series is exhibited in July 2012 in the courtyard of the Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles at the end of the workshop with author photographer Diana Lui, then in October 2012 and 2013 at the Montpellier City Hall on the occasion of October Rose .
In the newspaper : Article Libération Nov 2013
The photography Alexia XII is selected among the finalists in 2012 for the Pink Ribbon Photo Award, organized by Estée lauder Companies. In november 2017, on the occasion of PARIS PHOTO, Xavier Barral and Estée lauder Companies publishes a book available here : click to see more
